The first paramedic course of Madhya Pradesh was started in 1997. Later on 10 more paramedic courses were added in the year 2001. Looking into the acute shortage of Doctors, government decided to open nine new medical collages and now another six medical collages are likely to be opened.
All these medical collages will need paramedics like Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, O. T. Technicians and Medical Laboratory Technicians, etc.
Looking into the dire need of Paramedics, the Government decided to open allied Health & Sciences Institutes in the year 2018. The MGM allied Health and Science Institute, in short MAHSI, has been established in 2018. The institute is running 5 Post Graduate courses, 3 Degree courses, 9 Diploma courses and 2 Certificate courses. We have 835 seats, which are likely to be increased. The Institute has its own building and faculties in almost all specialties. The institute is procuring State of Art Equipment. The majority of the students are girls. Therefore, very soon a hostel for 324 girls will be ready by the first week of April’2021.
We are going to have collaboration with Manchester metropolitan University, U. K. Under this collaboration we will have faculty and student exchange program and joint Research Projects. We are going to add many more courses soon. A placement cell has been opened, which looks into the Campus interview so that all students who qualify from MAHSI Institute make a placement.
A beautiful Sports gallery, Road Safety gallery, Nutrition and Physiology labs have been established. Yoga classes are being under taken regularly.
In July 2021, we will be completing 25 years. Hence, it has been decided to have a Silver Jubilee year, starting from July 2021. We are expecting many of our alumnis both from India and abroad to actively participate in this collaboration.
We are marching ahead with the clear vision to make it as one of the finest allied Health and Science Institute in the country.
Your suggestions are most welcome
Long live MAHSI!
